Palm Treo Pro Smartphone Officially Announced



Previously, we had reported about the leaked of the new Treo Pro, today Palm has finally officially announced the Treo Pro smartphone. The device will be available in Europe through Vodafone and O2, Australia via Telsia in addition to Asia Pacific and United States.

Developed for business users, the Windows-enabled Treo Pro combines sleek simplicity and robust productivity for effective and efficient operations.

Supporting Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, the latest smartphone possesses essential attributes such as email, Wi-Fi and GPS capabilities, allowing IT managers to enhance their mobile work force and at the same time secure their management, corporate network and other information. It is now easy to response to emails, browse internet, use 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and access GPS from high-resolution color touch screen and a full QWERTY keyboard.

Powered by a removable battery, the Treo Pro smartphone delivers up to five hours of talk time. There is also all new voicemail indicator function that enables users to know that they have received a voicemail.

Users can take advantage of Microsoft Direct Push Technology that ensures a direct connection to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 SP2 or 2007 to recive up-to-date email, contacts and calendars. Here are few of the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional application: Microsoft System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008, high-speed UMTS/HSDPA network capabilities, Palm shortcuts, and familiar Windows experience to use the Palm Treo Pro as a mobile computing device.

In the Treo Pro box, you will find an international power charger, microUSB cable and a stereo headset (3.5mm). It also comes bundled with other accessories (sold separately), including a vehicle power charger, leather side case, travel microUSB cable, cradle, extra battery, TTY audio adapter, and replacement styli.

Priced at $549 (approx. Rs. 23,838), the Palm Treo Pro smartphone will soon be available in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific, followed by worldwide launch
